Impact Story: Meet Liam and His Grandma

Two weeks ago, we welcomed a young boy named Liam and his grandmother, Mary, for their very first visit to HCC. Mary shared that at other food banks, she often felt shamed, but at HCC, she was met with smiles, kindness, and a clean, welcoming environment.
As we explained the shopping process, Liam’s eyes lit up when he heard we had shoes, especially since the toe of his own shoe was completely open, exposing his sock. He shyly mentioned that he wears black socks so no one will notice. We were able to find a perfect pair in his size, and the joy on his face was absolutely priceless.
Both Liam and Mary left filled with gratitude—for the new shoes, a full cart of groceries, and even a new Bible to take home.
