Monthly Motivation: A Little Card, A Big Smile!

At HCC, we know serving local families isn’t something we can do alone – it takes a village. Sometimes, the smallest gestures from that village mean the world to a child.

One of our partners, Cardz for Kidz, based in Chicago, does just that. They gather handmade cards filled with love and encouragement and send them to children all over the world. Recently, they sent a special box to HCC, cards that we get to hand out to every child who walks through our doors.

Imagine the joy on a child’s face as they leave with one of these cards in hand. A simple piece of paper becomes a message of hope, a spark of happiness, a little reminder that someone cares about them.

It’s moments like these small, heartfelt, full of love that remind us why we do what we do. Thanks to partners like Cardz For Kidz, we get to share not just food and clothes, but smiles, encouragement, and a little sunshine with the kids we serve.
