HCC Receives Grant from Thunderbirds Charities to Continue Feeding and Serving the Valley

The Harvest Compassion Center (HCC) is thrilled to announce it has received a $50,000 grant from Thunderbirds Charities, a nonprofit formed in 1986 to distribute funds raised through the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Their mission is to assist children and families, support those in need, and improve quality of life across Arizona.

2024 was a record-breaking year for HCC. Across our three centers, we served over 19,000 families; 14% more than the previous year. In 2025, requests continue to grow. With rising food insecurity and financial instability, HCC is preparing to expand by opening a fourth location in the southwest Valley.

“A growing number of families in Arizona are struggling to make ends meet. Persistent inflation and rising living costs are forcing many to choose between food, rent, medical care, and transportation. With partners like Thunderbirds Charities, we can continue serving each person who walks through our doors. Their commitment is creating a lasting impact for families and children. We are extremely thankful for the generosity of Thunderbirds Charities!”
